The individual’s responsibilities include:
Collaborating with the 1st Engineer Engine to prepare daily tasks and organize work with the Assistant Motorman and Oiler/Motorman under the guidance of the 1st Engineer Engine.
Maintaining the motorman workshop and all tools and instruments in order and checking yoke and valves clearances to ensure compliance with handbook values, in coordination with the 1st Engineer Engine.
Checking control mechanisms and fuel racks clearances to verify compliance with handbook values, in collaboration with the 1st Engineer Engine.
Cleaning fuel and oil filters to prevent leakages and maintain cleanliness.
Checking and overhauling injection fuel valves, including dismantling, testing, and complete overhaul of all parts in the workshop.
Participating in engine watch duties as necessary, following company standing orders and instructions from the officer in charge of the watch.
Maintaining high work morale and promoting safety, effectiveness, and proper work methods among the team.
Providing assistance with Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) and handling personal protective equipment (PPE).
Supporting an effective health and safety culture on board by strictly adhering to HESS regulations and reporting any observed violations to the Head of Department.
