The individual in this role holds several important responsibilities related to inventory management, storage, and overall departmental organization:
Key Holder and Stock Control: Acting as the sole key holder and accountable for stock levels for assigned stores, controlling access and ensuring appropriate levels of inventory.
Inventory Assistance: Assisting team leaders with inventory of equipment and materials in unlocked engine department stores.
Storage and Labeling: Ensuring proper storage and labeling of all materials and equipment under their control in compliance with company procedures.
Receiving and Landing: Handling the receiving and landing of all material related to the engine department, checking for completeness and proper delivery.
InfoSHIP/AMOS Management: Updating InfoSHIP/AMOS system as per receiving and modifying system data according to procurement and maintenance purposes advised by the Chief Engineer or team leader.
Ordering and Inventory: Ordering and performing inventory for consumables, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.
Cargo Manifest Preparation: Preparing the summary of cargo landing manifest for engine department-related items.
Equipment Operation: Utilizing forklifts as required for handling materials and equipment.
General Departmental Responsibilities: Overseeing various departmental responsibilities including eye wash station checks, first aid kit checks, heavy objects securing register checks, ladder inventory and logs, pest management, and hazardous waste process administration, inventory, collection, and disposal.
Health and Safety: Supporting an effective and sustainable health and safety culture on board, strictly following HESS regulations, and reporting any violations to the Head of Department.
