The responsibilities of an Engine Room Cleaner include:
Cleaning, preservation, and painting of engine compartments and associated areas to maintain cleanliness and prevent corrosion.
Ensuring the cleanliness of all engine compartments and conducting maintenance work as required to uphold operational standards.
Providing support in planned maintenance work on engines and equipment under the guidance of technical officers.
Performing maintenance and repair work on all technical equipment as instructed and supervised by technical officers, contributing to the smooth functioning of engine operations.
Assisting in security duties as directed by the Chief Engineer, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in the engine room and adjacent areas of the engine department, including the maintenance of shipboard equipment to prevent hazards and ensure efficiency.
Supporting an effective and sustainable health and safety culture onboard by strictly following HESS regulations and any health and safety protocols in force. They are responsible for reporting any observed violations of the Company’s health procedures to the Head of Department.
