  • Learn and apply all regulations pertaining to work activities onboard, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety.
  • Familiarize oneself with all emergency systems onboard, including the location of safety escapes, operation procedures in case of fire, maneuvering of watertight doors, general emergency protocols, and basic knowledge of lifeboat operations.
  • Maintain the engine workshop in good order and handle tools and equipment with care to ensure their longevity and functionality.
  • Possess the following skills:
    • Use basic and precision measuring instruments effectively.
    • Interpret technical drawings accurately.
    • Utilize various types of threads (metric, inch) as required.
    • Perform electric welding and gas welding TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) proficiently.
    • Replace metalwork and pipelines, including bending, using different materials with specific requirements on press fitting, aquatherm, PVC pipes, etc.
    • Overhaul, maintain, and repair all kinds of mechanical equipment onboard, including centrifugal and piston worm pumps.
    • Ensure the proper functioning of all ship systems, including propulsion, steering, air conditioning, water production, and treatment.
  • Support an effective and sustainable health and safety culture onboard by strictly adhering to HESS regulations and any Health and Safety Protocols, and report any observed violations of the Company’s health procedures to the Head of Department.
