Experience / Qualifications:
- Previous experience in operating and maintaining electrical visual systems.
- REE/RME or equivalent certification (where applicable).
- Ideally, experience working within the marine industry.
- CEC certification desirable.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
Trade Skills:
- Handle materials with care to prevent spillages during cleaning and maintenance.
- Carry out servicing and maintenance routines.
- Undertake planned maintenance diligently and report any defects identified to the supervisor.
- Conduct fault diagnosis and report findings.
- Safely isolate systems or equipment as directed for servicing.
- Perform basic fault finding and repair on ships’ domestic and industrial appliances, lifeboats, passenger tender equipment, and deck machinery.
- Follow instructions and plans for repairs, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Tech Safety Skills:
- Safely use appropriate tools for the job.
- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn correctly and in good condition.
- Ensure others are wearing appropriate PPE.
- Adhere strictly to safety instructions at all times.
ER Environmental Management:
- Recognize and report situations where environmental integrity may be compromised.
- Follow procedures for handling and treating onboard waste.
- Take appropriate action and seek assistance for environmental incidents.
- Report environmental incidents onboard as necessary.
- Handle materials with care to minimize spillages.
- Dispose of contaminated material correctly.
