  1. Conduct routine inspections to monitor, control, and troubleshoot all engine machinery and equipment consistently.

The Designated Engineering Officer in Charge of the AAQS must meet the following qualifications/competencies:

  • Hold a minimum Engineer Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency (CoC) or equivalent issued by relevant flag authorities.
  • Have a minimum of two years’ experience holding an Engineer Officer of the Watch or equivalent CoC.
  • Have been employed with the Company for at least one year.
  • Have completed at least one contract onboard the vessel or same class of vessel in an engineering role other than the Designated Engineering Officer in Charge of the EGCS.

The candidate should possess the following certifications:

  • Certificate of apprenticeship in a metalworking industry or equivalent.
  • Certificate of apprenticeship as a ship mechanic or equivalent.
  • Arc welding license.
