3rd Engineer Officer

Equipment Maintenance and Operations:

1. Conducts routine inspections to monitor, control, and troubleshoot all engine machinery and equipment under their control consistently.
2. Operates machinery in a safe and consistent manner as directed by the Senior Engineer Officer On Watch (SEOOW), ensuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including ETCC requirements.
3. Coordinates and conducts all assigned maintenance activities, accurately recording work history through the computerized maintenance management system as per Company policies.
4. Reports all machinery or equipment damage or malfunction promptly to the appropriate manager and raises defects according to Company policies.
5. Participates willingly in briefings when handing over to the next set of watchkeeping engine officers, ensuring the dissemination of relevant departmental information.

Staff Development/Management:

1. Cooperates willingly with the SEOOW in guiding watchkeeping crew to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of all Engine machinery and equipment.
2. Assists in conducting onboard training for engine crew and provides accurate performance evaluations and improvement plans as needed.
3. Supports training and orientation for all new-to-vessel or first-contract engine officers and crew.

Cost Management:

1. Assists the Staff Engineer Officer/Senior First Engineer in cost management and control of the onboard Engine department to achieve financial goals set by the Company.

Safety and Compliance:

1. Performs all duties in accordance with applicable policies, Fleet Regulations, and governmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture at all times.
2. Operates Engine machinery following the Code of Safe Working Practices and adheres to timekeeping rules, maintaining accurate ILO records.
3. Performs Emergency Response Organization duties as required.
